A new exhibition by The Creative Collective in the Courtyard Gallery from 26th June - 12th September
The Creative Collective are hosting the ECOllective exhibition as a part of The Collection Museum’s Environment and Sustainability season. The exhibition will be held in the Courtyard Gallery in The Collection Museum and will be running from the 26th of June until 12th September. Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge and included in your free ticket to the museum.
The ECOllective exhibition will include works from The Collection Museum's artists in residence, Fiona Carruthers and Dr Conohar Scott, alongside artwork from the members of the Creative Collective. The exhibition will also include a large-scale communal collage piece, made up of individual squares created by the members of the Creative Collective using unusual and recycled materials, responding to the topics of Sustainability and the Environment. One of the main aims of the exhibition is to reach towards Zero-Waste where possible, therefore the group used their own recycled and repurposed materials in creating the collage. As a visitor, you are invited to contribute to this piece and have your work shown in the gallery space; you are welcome to submit your own square for display as a part of the collage. The submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the exhibition, which you are welcome to drop off at the museum's front desk* or alternatively keep your eyes peeled for more information on how to submit your artwork online!
As part of the museum's Environment and Sustainability season we have also been working on an exclusive event inviting the local community to join us to explore art, environment and sustainability. Our ongoing event began with a panel discussion comprising of local sustainable businesses, artists and a Student Union representative. The recording of this discussion will soon be made available, please watch this space for the link.
