Glean Me

You are invited to come and glean from, and take away, a bit of Whitaker/ Wright's artwork. This will transform the work as it evolves from one state to another at the midpoint of the exhibition.

Saturday 28 May, 12.00-4.00pm, Usher Gallery

Glean Me is the title of Whitaker/ Wright's artwork featured in the Emps Piece: Stories of Lincolnshire exhibition by MA Fine Art students at the Usher Gallery. Taking influence from the process of gleaning, Whitaker/ Wright explores the performative process of giving the transformation of an object by its surrounding community; the artists invite audience members to participate in the gleaning of the fabric similarly to the likes of Yoko Ono's Cut Piece (1964). The event takes place on 28 May, and from this point the remnants of the fabric will be shown until the end of the exhibition. Whitaker/ Wright is a Lincoln and Sheffield based artist team beginning their collaborative exploration into relationality.
