The Problems of the Reconstruction of Historic Costume. Talk by Sheila Landi

07 Feb 2013

To accompany the exhibition The Art of Dress: 18th Century Frocks and Finery, Sheila Landi will be giving a talk on her work on the mantua gown and petticoat and the ethics of historic costume restoration. This event has been organised by the Friends of Lincoln Muesums and Art Gallery

In 2010, Sheila conserved and reconstructured the mantua to its original design as far as possible. She also constructed a replica pannier and undergarments for use in its display. Sheila offered to do this work gratis and conservation materials were funded by the Friends of Lincoln Museums and Art Gallery.

The talk begins at 2.30pm. All tickets are priced at £6 and are available at The Collection Museum or from the Friends of Lincoln Museums and Art Gallery at www.lincolnmuseums.org.uk
