Winter Solstice

An evening of winter wellbeing and comfort at The Collection Museum in celebration of Winter Solstice 2022.

Join us for our last late-night event of 2022 celebrating the Winter Solstice on Wednesday 21 December 2022 from 4pm to 9pm.

We invite you to enter the warmth and cosiness of the museum after-hours, with a programme of wellbeing events designed as the perfect relaxing treat you need to start the festive season right. This evening brings together cosy, wellness inspired craft activities and seasonal offers in the café, yoga sessions and a gong bath to leave you feeling relaxed and comforted.  Want to find out more about the inspiration behind this event, the extraordinary Shropshire sun pendant? Our curator, Dawn Heywood, will be giving free, bespoke talks throughout the evening to tell you more about this fascinating display.

This event programme is inspired by the display ‘Gathering Light: a Bronze Age golden sun’.

Winter Solstice Gong Bath

8pm - 9pm. A full hour of sonic bliss using gongs, singing bowls and other instruments to create a deeply meditative experience that aids in stress reduction and encourages deep relaxation through the vibration and frequency of the gongs.  Gongs have the power to transform your perspective, taking you on a cosmic journey offering the opportunity for healing and relaxation on all levels and the space to tune in to your core self.  Participants are still for the duration of the gong bath (seated or lying) so please bring any items you need for your comfort - yoga mat, cushions/pillows, sunlounger etc.
